----- Use lemon juice to remove mildew from clothing. Saturate mildew with lemon juice, rub, then wash as usual.
__ Use toothpaste to fill in nail and screw holes in walls.
__ Use Alkaseltzer to clean the toilet. Drop in 2 tablets. Let sit for about 15 minutes, then clean as usual.
__To stop birdseeds from sprouting under the feeder, heat the seeds in the microwave on high for one minute per cup before putting them in the feeder.
__For stronger nails, mix a pack of Strawberry Jello with just enough water to make a thick paste. Put it on your nails and leave for 20 minutes. The gelatin makes your nails stronger, and the color stains your nails red, so there is no need to polish.
__A little brown shoe polish mixed with floor wax, makes a great concealer for scratches on wood flooring.
__When changing your ironing board cover, use aluminum foil under the cover and pad to reflect heat. It will reduce ironing time.
__To remove almost any stain from clothing, use Greased Lightning (sold at most grocery stores) It will remove blood, chocolate, spaghetti sauce, grease, baby formula and more.
__Make soggy potato chips crisp again, by microwaving them on high for 30 - 60 seconds. Let them cool.
__Use Scotch Tape to remove splinters. Put the tape over the splinter, when you pull it off, it will remove the splinter easily and painlessly.
__Use shaving cream on the bathroom mirror to prevent it from fogging up.
__After cleaning tile and fiberglass shower walls, apply a thin coat of carwax and buff to a shine. This will repel most soap buildup, and if any does adhere, it will wipe off easily.
__Place a mini-marshmallow in the bottom of ice cream cones to prevents drips.
__If you accidentally add too much salt to a dish while it is cooking, drop in a peeled potato. It absorbs the excess salt.
__When boiling corn on the cob, add a pinch of sugar to the water. It will bring out the corn's natural sweetness.
__To remove crayon from your walls, apply plain white toothpaste to the marks and leave for half and hour. Wipe off with a dry cloth.
__To sharpen dull scissors, cut through three layers of tin foil ten times. Test on a piece of paper. Repeat until they are as sharp as you like. You can also cut a piece of medium grain sandpaper to pieces to sharpen the blades.
__Use non-stick vegetable spray to cure squeaky hinges.
__To remove ink from clothing, spray with hairspray and wash as usual.
__Make a homemade ice pack by combining one cup rubbing alcohol with two cups water in a quart-size freezer bag. The mixture will not freeze solid so it can easily be made to bend around knees, elbows, or wherever. When finished, put back in the freezer.
__The tip of a vegetable peeler is a wonderful substitute for a small Phillip's head screwdriver.
__Use baby oil or cooking oil to remove band-aids painlessly. Coat entire bandage in oil, and peel off. No Ouch!!!!
__Put a coat of clear nail polish on the bottom rim of shaving cream cans. This will stop it from leaving a rust ring on the counter.
__Use baby oil on stainless steel sinks to prevent water spots. After cleaning the sink, apply several drops of baby oil and buff until it's shiny.
__Use A-1 steak sauce to repair scratches on wood furniture. Use a cotton ball and dab in on until you achieve the shade of brown you want.
__Remove scratches from glass by rubbing the scratch with plain white toothpaste.
__Brighten a porcelain tub or sink by rubbing with a mixture of turpentine and salt.
__Keep your shower curtain mildew free in the future, soak it in salt water before hanging.
__Make a tarnished picture frame shine by rubbing it with turpentine.
__Remove grease stains from wallpaper by applying baby powder to the spot with a clean cloth. Rub in until the stain is gone.
__Eliminate lint on clothing by adding one cup of white vinegar to the final rinse cycle.
__Nail polish remover will clean grease from white shoes.
__Clean old photos by gently rubbing with a piece of bread.
__Pouring baking soda down the drain weekly will keep pipes clean.
